Heat treated, polished and gently etched to promote the hamon, this W2 honyaki is 190mm x 55mm at the heel, tapering from 3.5mm to 0.5mm through the spine, with the total weight coming in at just 188grams
The knife was sharpened using whet stones to avoid damaging the finish.
The main body of the 130mm x 20mm x 30mm rectangular handle is laburnum, but sports a section of ash with a 5500 year old bog oak cap and gently tapers in towards the blade itself.
